Redlaser App

Ever go to a store and try to haggle with the cashier because you know you saw the item for cheaper at a different store? Well here's your solution to an easier debate lol.

The Red Laser app is my go-to app for all comparison shopping! It's especially great during the holidays when you are out and don't feel like going to 8 different stores just to get the best deal. 

Here's how it works:

• Download the app (available via the App store, Google Play, and Windows Phone) or go to the website redlaser.com.
• Type in the product you are looking for (if you have the app, scan the product while in store using the scan feature located at the top left of the home screen)
• The app will compare prices for online and local retailers.
• Show the better price to the cashier and enjoy awesome savings!

I used this app last year in Lowe's to purchase a turkey fryer for my mom. Home Depot had the fryer for about $20 cheaper. I scanned the product and showed it to them at checkout and they price matched it AND gave me an extra 10% off. Be sure to ask the retailer before assuming they have a price match policy. This will especially come in handy at Walmart since they are now price matching Amazon.com. Happy Saving :)

Cartwheel App by Target

Cartwheel by Target is the best thing since sliced bread!! Okay it's not THE best, but you get my drift. I love this app, because it gives you the option to scan the product while in store for instant savings!

Here's how it works:

• Download and sign up on the app. You can choose to sign up via email, Facebook, or Google+.
• While shopping in Target, scan the items in your cart or scroll through the app to see the offers that are available.
• Once scanned, add the offer to your Cartwheel.
• Pull up the barcode by clicking "My Barcode" and let the cashier scan it.
• Enjoy instant savings!

Another great thing about the Cartwheel app is you can use coupons from the app in conjunction with Target store coupons AND manufacturers coupons for triple the savings. It's a pretty simple app to use but if you get confused or caught up, leave a comment below. Happy Saving!

Ibotta

I stumbled across this app named Ibotta a few weeks ago. I fell in love as soon as I started exploring it so I thought I'd share. Ibotta is a free app where you get rebates for making everyday purchases.

Here's how it works:

Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once downloaded, create an account (you can use Facebook or email). Once signed in, you'll see rebates broken down into different categories. Click on a category, then click on the store you plan to shop at. Select the product you intend on purchasing then unlock the rebate by reading a short product summary or watching a video.

Once you purchase the products, click "Redeem" choose your store then scan product and receipt. Once submitted the app will add up cash back. You can cash out once you earn $10.00 minimum via Paypal or Venmo. You can also get the rebate on a gift card to your retailers such as Starbucks, Best Buy and Express.

Think of all the savings you can earn on top of store and manufacturers coupons. If you decide to sign up, make sure you enter the Referral Code: isbsiex when you are creating an account. Happy Savings!

Walmart Savings Catcher

I downloaded this relatively new app from Walmart about two months ago, but wanted to try it out before I posted about it. I frequent Walmart approximately four to five times a month, and have submitted 9 receipts since downloading the app. Unfortunately, I haven't received any cash back :( 

Here's my opinion: I think it's a good concept, and great opportunity to get some money back, but don't go out your way to shop at Walmart simply because you have the POSSIBILITY of getting money back. Download the app, and use it when you happen to need to go in the store. Here's how:

• Go to the App (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) Store. 
• Type in "Savings Catcher" in the search field. 
• Download the app. Create an account (if you already have a walmart.com account, simply enter your username and password.) 
• Shop at Walmart.
• Scan your receipt and wait a few days for the app to search for deals across the US. 
• If you get cash back, Walmart will give you the difference on a gift card.

I've heard of people having success with getting money back so don't let me discourage you from using it! Just know, Walmart normally has the lowest prices so don't be surprised when the app tells you that you already got the lowest price.
